Areas of focus

  • Anxiety

Learn coping skills to manage and live with anxious thoughts, fears, and behaviors. There are many factors that contribute to anxiety. No matter the source, anxiety can be managed by learning ways to view life stressors from a manageable perspective.

  • Identity Crises

Learn to make meaning of your life. Much of our contentment comes from our satisifcation with ourselves and feelings of fulfillment and purpose. We want to feel needed, loved, and understood. Sometimes we feel lost and need help to rediscover ourselves.

  • Parentification

Did you find yourself parenting your parents as a child? There are many people who are unaware that tendencies like “people pleasing” and difficulty identifying and honoring personal needs can sometimes stem from experiencing a parent-child role reversal in childhood.

  • Relationships

Couples will learn to improve their relationship through increasing self-awareness, learning about attachment, and by gaining a better understanding of their partner’s inner world. For those who are single, learn to deal with or heal from toxic relationships. Improve the way you approach dating or single life by learning your attachment style.

  • Self-Advocacy

Learn to boldly express your needs, desires, and boundaries in a healthy way. When we are silenced and learn to believe that our voice does not matter, feelings of fear, guilt, and shame hinder us from speaking up for ourselves. Often, the frustration of being ignored or unable to speak up builds up and explodes. This imbalance can be healed.

  • Trauma

Through a combination of psychoeducation and learning to listen to your body, learn to identify and overcome triggers associated with trauma. “Trauma” is any event that shocks our system and disrupts our normal way of functioning. Whether a minor event or a tragic life altering event, healing work must be done to move forward.

C.G. JUNG

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

Intergrative Framework

  • Psychodynamic

Focuses on underlying human behavior, feelings, and emotions and how they might relate to early childhood experiences. The core focus of this approach is to examine the relationship between conscious motivations (things we are aware of) and unconscious motivations (things we are not aware of).

  • Existential

Since achieving wellness is more than just exercise and diet, I’ll be guiding you toward other helpful practices such as mindfulness training, aromatherapy, and more.

  • Multicultural feminist

This practice takes systemic factors into account when assessing psychological stressors and interventions needed for therapeutic change.
